Explosives and Improvised Explosives Devices [IEDs]

This course is designed to give police, military and security personnel the knowledge to safely and efficiently perform their duties at occurrences involving commercial explosives, improvised explosive devices [IEDs] and bombing scenes. The course of instruction includes;

• theory and characteristics of explosives

• recognition of commercial explosives products

• recognition of military explosives & ordnance

• improvised explosives & incendiary mixtures

• safe handling of explosives

• IED types and methods of triggering

• explosives and bomb threat incident procedures
