Delay Systems Initiated
by Clocks and Timers
Delays
provide a method both for arming and initiating an explosive or arson
device after a set period of time has elapsed. Some are electronically-controlled
and are very precise. Physical and chemical principles govern the
other improvised delay systems, which tend to be less accurate.
Nevertheless, these low-precision delays are frequently used by bombers
and arsonists.
